Conflict resolution guide for school

After having received the details through a survey, students made a ‘Conflict resolution guide’ for the school which served for them as an opportunity to reflect on their understanding. The conflict resolution guide covered different types of conflicts that may occur in the school & the possible ways of resolving these in a peaceful way.

Summative assessment helps determine to what extent the instructional and learning goals have been met, to understand the same the students interviewed different teachers in the school and discussed with them the conflict situations they have faced. They also interviewed Principal sir to find out various types of conflicts faced by him in the school and the different ways he tries to resolve these conflicts.

Formative assessment 3

Students were exposed to various organizations that are involved in conflict resolution on a global scale. They tried to understand the origin, structure, functions and decision making process of the United Nations. They were also be introduced to the concept of NGOs and they made power point presentations to reflect on their understanding.

Chart Work on types of conflicts

Students researched to find out information on different types of conflicts, their causes & effects. They were divided into groups to focus on famous wars of the world. They worked collaboratively with their group members & presented beautiful charts on World wars, Revolt of 1857,Gulf war, Vietnam war & Indo – Pak war.

Skit on types of conflicts

Learners were introduced to the five types of basic conflicts: Interpersonal, Intrapersonal, Intergroup, Intragroup & Conflict with nature. They were then divided into groups & were told to enact any one conflict and the other groups had to guess the type of conflict.Thus learners got a clear understanding of the topic.

Dictionary skills

With the purpose of enhancing the vocabulary, kids were involved in a dictionary activity. They were divided into groups & were given a dictionary.Words were written on the board & each group had to search for and write the correct meaning on the board as fast as possible. Kids enjoyed learning new words with their meanings.
